In ancient Greece and ancient Rome wax-surfaced tablets were used to write down things of ephemeral relevance. The kneadability and polishability – Properties that classify a substance as wax by definition - allowed for easy erasing of words and reusability of the panels giving the wax tablet chance to entry into immortality. I asked people to tell me a word they‘d rather forget. Each word I engraved on a beeswax plate with oil paint. Then I stacked the wax sheets on paper and heated them from above with a heater.
